As Christianity gained political power, internal conflicts and theological disputes arose among its adherents, leading to a complex web of alliances and rivalries between different factions. &lt;strong&gt;Heresy&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;orthodoxy&lt;/strong&gt;, once relatively abstract concepts, became entangled with issues of power and wealth.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
